2012: the beginning

So it’s begun, my year of strangeness.

It will start with me selling off 75% of my belongings. Then we’ll buy a motorhome and in August we’ll set off on a great adventure, slowly travelling around the UK. We’ll start our journey in south Wales, meander north to Snowdonia then cross into England and head north again. In late September, we’ll take the ferry across to the Isle of Man to attend the Manx Literary Festival . After that – well, we can go anywhere … but we’ll probably head eastwards then south for the winter months then up to Scotland in the Spring.

In a year or so, our journey will end on a few acres of land where we’re going to build our own house.

So the Mayan year of transition will certainly be that for me.

This blog will be a record of our preparations over the next 6 months and then of our travels. You can expect trials and tribulations, photographs, anecdotes, folklore, local history, interviews and encounters with interesting people, short films, podcasts, doggy tales, and a lot of wildlife in wild places.
